One last photo..

This is a photo of my sisters three children (Nicholas 6, Alexandra 5, Kate 3) and mine (Shannon - in middle of girls - 4 and James 2). We met on Sunday morning for our local church service (we needed to make arrangements to get the children christened). I couldn't stop laughing when her girls got out of the car. They all had the exact same outfit on! Well you can't account for great taste (although we got some funny looks during the church service- at least they will remember us)

A bit of this and that...

Wasn't it a nice day on Anzac Day? Steve went to the Dawn Service and then we all went to the Caversham Wildlife Park to make the most of the beautiful weather. The kids loved the kangaroos the best. This is the only place I have ever seen white ones. Note to self- don't let the kids wear white sneakers when there are wildlife roaming- spent afternoon scrubbing shoes -YUK! We were all exhausted for the afternoon and while the kids and I had a "nanna nap", Steve

down to his old regiment at Karrakata Barracks to play "two up and do other 'manly Anzac stuff'.
Shannon met fairy Queen Caroline on Saturday and got her share of fairy wishing dust. She refused to tell me what she wished for as 'it wouldn't come true'.

OH, I FORGOT....

I finally finished the box for Ryans christening. I fixed the corners of the lid, after dropping it, and repainted it. I then put about four layers (let each one dry of course) of Modpodge to seal it and it has come up all smooth and 'finished'. I made a card to match the box and also made a "T" for Tahlia (Ryans sister) and a card so she didn't feel left out at the christening. Hope you like them.

A BIT OF EVERYTHING....

Well what a week. James went okay in the trial clinic for the Flu vaccine (it contains egg and he is allergic to egg). It was done at PMH incase any of the kids had a reaction. He did test postive for a reaction to the vaccine in the skin prick test. Only the second to do so thus far (thats my child). So they had to split the dose in two. One injection, wait 30 mins, 1 injection, wait 45 mins. He also had a blood test inbetween as they are conducting research into allergies and need samples from allergy kids. Unfortunately, they couldnt get any blood from him at all, but tried both arms. So the poor kid walked out with a skin prick test on his lower left arm which had swollen from the testing of egg and the vaccine. An injection in each upper arm and a blood test in each arm. He was very brave though and so far no reaction. We have to watch for 3 days.
Well the kids decided to dress up today as they were a little bored. I couldn't resist taking pictures of them in their dress ups. Shannon was Stitch from Lilo and Stitch and James was a jar of 'Hunney' from Pooh Bear. Don't you love the Disney Shopping Site?
Well thats it for this week. Except the same thing happened to our other clipsall switch on Monday (what is it with Mondays???) the one that runs the lights. It actually happened on Sunday, but we left it until Monday to get someone out as the Sunday call out fee is $295.00 (yep thats right!) plus..... $295 for the first 1/2 hour after that. Yes, I know, I should have just plucked that money tree in the back yard. Well as this electricity thingy has now cost us around $1000 in 8 days, I think I should have planted a whole forrest of those bloody money trees! Hope next week is better. Fingers (and toes) crossed. XXXXXXXXX

One of those days!

Well its been one of those days!. It all started at 12.05am when Shannon came down and crawled into bed with us because her light had 'just gone off'. Turns out the bedside lamp she sleeps with on had blown a globe. Had to take her back to bed and lay down with her for a while. Went back to bed 30 mins later with back and neck aching only to have her back again an hour later. I give up..... Then this morning at 8am the power went off on the power points. The lights worked. Went around turning off every power point individually and going out to the box inbetween to try to 'flick' the clipsall switch back on. This was hubbys helpful advice. I must admit I did ask him did he realise how hard this was to do with two kids trailing you the whole time and running around the front yard (a big no, no) screaming (sound like.. 'I'm free!). I don't think he quite understood how frustrated I was until I hung up on him. MEN! Well it didn't work, so I called out my own night in shining armour, only this one charges differently, not on a white horse, BUT.. wait for it... $85 call out fee and $25 for every 15 mins after that! He turned up at 12pm, I was a bit disappointed he wasn't wearing armour, but at least his ride was white. He left a bit later. I had my power back on, a clipsall switch replaced and was $302.00 poorer. Well thats the modern day knight for you, he accepts VISA!

Hopefully tonight will go better. I have a P&F meeting ( thought that stood for Princess' and Frumps- whichever catagory the mum fits into, but apparently it is for Parents and Friends- I like my name better). I have been told as it is my first meeting I will be NEW BLOOD. I made the Kindy teacher promise to bring a bottle of wine and then she can have my blood! Do you think they (School Faculty) will think less of me if I get 'tanked' at a P&F meeting? HA HA...

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Well it has been a busy week again. The weekend was very hectic. I went to the swapmeet at Wanneroo Showgrounds on Sunday morning to sell my baby stuff I am not using anymore. It was a great success, but very tiring. I had to get up up 5am as everyone has their stuff set up for 6am! Crazy I know. Even worse when your child has asthma and you are up until 2-30am with him (that was after the clocks had been moved back). Anyway I am going to the Karrinyup swapmeet this Sunday to hopefully off load the rest. Be there if you want a bargain.

I am now looking around my house. As I have been so oooooo busy I have fallen behind in my housework and really don't know where to start! I happened to look up at my pin up board and noticed this poem. Maybe I should just chill......

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PARENT...

Today I left some dishes dirty
The bed I made at 3-30
The nappies soaked a little longer
The odour grew a bit stronger.
The crumbs I spilt the day before are staring at me from the floor.
The fingerprints there on the wall will still be there in the fall.
The dirty streaks on these window panes will still be there the next time it rains.
"Shame on you, old lazy bones," you say
"And just what have you done today?"

I nursed a baby till she slept. I held a toddler while he wept.
I played a game of hide and seek. I squeezed a toy so it would squeak.
I pulled a wagon, sang a song.
Taught a child right from wrong.
What did I do this whole day through?
Not much that shows, I guess it's true.
Unless you think that what I've done might be important to someone
With bright eyes and soft hair
If that is true, I've done my share.
